Thailand lays out ambitious plan to transform Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) area, including improvement of roads, rails, ports, and industrial estates, as such, this conference provides a platform for market-sensing to gather industry opinion on commercial, technical and master planning, as well as fine-tune and close the gap between aspects of planning/development and the market reality, reviewing developmental timeline of each phase of the EEC project, in order to accelerate and enhance planning and managing these infrastructure projects, with plenty of opportunities to participate in this lucrative USD 43 billion’s project to realize the EEC over the next five years

The Thai Cabinet, during its meeting on 28 June 2016, approved the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Development project. The EEC straddles three eastern provinces of Thailand’s Chonburi, Rayong, and Chachoengsao, off the coast of the Gulf of Thailand and spans a total of 13,285 square kilometers. The EEC project will run from 2017 through 2021 that will involve 10 target industries under the Thailand 4.0 policy which takes into account the shifting of Thailand's economy to value-based, innovation-driven economy. In order to initiate the EEC plan, the government has identified 15 major investment projects for the EEC. Additionally, the government is planning to build a digital park in Si Racha located on the coast of Chonburi, to accelerate the development of an Eastern Economic Corridor of innovation (EECi), a complimentary project which will provide digital connectivity. The development of EEC will bring a great deal of benefits to other regions of Thailand as it directly connects to other Eastern provinces including Prachin Buri, Srakaew, Chantaburi and Trad, as well as serve as economic link between upper and lower Northeastern region, and the Gulf of Thailand..
