The pre-feasibility study of the Jakarta-Surabaya High Speed Rail project is scheduled to be completed by July 2018, as such, it is timely to fine tune and close the gap between aspects of planning/development and the market reality in order to meet key challenges towards successful implementation of the construction phase from January 2018, as well as reviewing possible business opportunities for industry players to participate in design, construction and completion of the project, including maintaining civil infrastructure and stations as well as supporting operational, technical and procurement matters relating to the high speed railway systems and operations

The Jakarta-Surabaya High Speed Rail project costing USD 7.8 billion, involves the construction of a new 730km railway line that stretches from Jakarta to Surabaya with elevated stops at Jakarta (Manggarai), Cirebon, Semarang (Poncol) and Surabaya (Pasar Turi). In addition, the project includes the construction of stations, bridges, control rooms and waiting rooms and related infrastructure, the installation of traffic control system, signaling system, communication network and interlocking systems and the laying of railway track, with the option to consider two schemes for the construction, between eradicating level grade crossings or constructing elevated railways, or a combination of the two schemes, depending on conditions on the ground. The pre-feasibility study is expected to be completed by July 2017, while the project construction is expected to start in January 2018. This conference provides a diverse perspective and deep understanding to fine tune and closes the gap between aspects of planning/development and the market reality. In addition, delegates will be able to review possible business opportunities in design, construction and completion of the project, including maintaining civil infrastructure and stations as well as supporting operational, technical and procurement matters relating to the high speed railway systems and operations, all this is geared towards meeting key challenges of ensuring the successful completion and delivery of the Jakarta-Surabaya High Speed Rail project.
