[Rethinking design for long-term urban architecture strategy and the integration of rail station into urban planning strategies, including bringing urban design and opportunity to improve the quality of the long corridors of land between rail stations is critical to achieve excellence in rail service and urban dynamics. To meet this challenge, Alen Nikolovski will speak on “Creating transit oriented development (TOD) master-plan along railway corridor”. Discussion will review maximizing public space to create a safer, more secure transit environment, as well as to explore untapped development potential and capitalize on opportunities for infill development around stations, with emphasis on the implementation of integrated sustainable planning methodology in master plan of rail design infrastructure and designing railway projects and related works including stations, depots, tunnels and topside development. Alen is an Executive Principal at Aedas and has accumulated extensive design and project experiences in the field of architecture. Over the years, Alen has focused on the infrastructure and transport sectors and has been actively involved in the development of design concepts to the implementation of these projects. His portfolio of infrastructure projects includes a number of Mass Rapid Transit stations in Singapore and the Dubai Light Rail Transit Project in United Arab Emirates. In addition, Alen’s experience extends to commercial, office, retail and residential projects in various cities worldwide. He has overseen projects such as the design implementation and construction administration of 26 Chanel international boutiques and was a part of the team that developed the winning scheme for Palm Beach Opera House, West Palm Beach of Florida in the United States of America]. |
