Judiciary transformation framework as an innovative tool to monitor cases and measure judicial performance in order to improve the quality of justice and the performance of judicial courts |

With the increased internationalization of business operations and commercial transactions, it is inevitable that the Judiciary will be called upon to resolve increasingly complex cross-border disputes. This will bring with it several unique challenges. Courts will likely be faced to grapple with increasingly complex cases, many of the cases are highly technical, touching on matters which are not confined to the law. Therefore, there is a need for judges and judicial officers to broaden their horizons, in order to enhance judicial competencies, improve the quality of justice and the performance of courts. As such, this conference focuses significantly on developing a model of continuing judicial education which builds competence and facilitates discussion on governance structure, strategic and sharing of perspectives and experiences to consolidate best practices in judicial independence and improve access to justice. Sufficient time has been set aside for sharing of perspective and experiences, as well as an opportunity to establish robust partnerships to enhance the Judiciary transformation innovation and pedagogical effectiveness. In addition, discussion will take a closer look at strengthening knowledge management framework, including innovation to facilitate knowledge sharing and information dissemination amongst judges and judicial officers that has great bearing on judicial performance and effectiveness, as well as discussion on the benefits of measuring the effectiveness of the Judiciary in order to improve the delivery of justice and accountability. |
