The high-speed railway, linking the capital Jakarta and the fourth largest city of Bandung, has a distance of approximately 150 km. Travel time between the two cities will be cut from more than three hours at present to less than 40 minutes once the project is finished and the project is expected to be ready to serve in early 2019. This session will provide an opportunity to gain access into this high speed rail project, to understand the challenges, the future direction and to set new benchmark). |

Delivering High Speed Rail projects, key success factors, issues to be resolved and building best practice benchmarks for the development of the proposed multi-billion-dollar Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail Project |
Malaysia and Singapore has inked deal on high-speed rail (HSR) link on 13 December 2016. Slated to be ready by 2026, the 350km rail link will significantly cut travel time between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to just 90 minutes. Against this development, “The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) Project Conference 2017” provides update on the HSR project as well as possible business opportunities for industry players to participate in developing, constructing and maintaining civil infrastructure and stations within both countries, as well as on operational, technical and procurement matters relating to the high speed railway systems and operations. As such, sufficient time has been set aside to review the entire project bid process, including policy for prequalification of bidders, estimation, tendering and tender opening. As the bidding will open in the fourth quarter of 2017, it is crucial for delegates to attend this conference to keep abreast in tender and bidding process update to prepare a responsible competitive bid for all the available bidding opportunities, in order to stand an equal chance to win the bid to develop and run the upcoming HSR between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. In addition, delegates will gain access into selected high speed rail projects in other part of the world, in order to understand the challenges and the future direction of these projects as well as lessons learned pertaining to design, construction and asset management of high speed rail project, including track work, power, signaling and telecommunications. This information is valuable to build best practice benchmarks to ensure successful delivery of Kuala Lumpur-Singapore HSR project. |
